INTRODUCTION

Neck pain is very common and most of us will have it at some point in our lives. Usually, neck pain is the result of holding the neck in the same position for too long. However, most of the neck pain we see at Emerson Physical Therapy and Rehab Center is caused by poor posture, lack of proper function, and poor stability that will cause muscle and ligament injury through repeated abuse. Neck pain is directly correlated with attitude, stability and shoulder functionality, blade stability and function, core stability, and proper shoulder positioning.

Many people develop a stiff and painful neck for no apparent reason. This can happen after sitting in a dive or after minor injuries, such as gardening. This is called nonspecific neck pain. This is the most common type of neck pain and usually disappears after a few days, provided you gently move your neck and rest when you need it.

At Emerson Physical Therapy and Rehab Center, we offer non-surgical options for effective and safe neck pain treatment. You get a personalized treatment plan that aims to bring you back to the level of activity and lifestyle you are used to, without having to deal with your neck. We'll show you how to get rid of the pain, fix the cause, and remove the symptoms. Emerson Physical Therapy & Rehab Center provides a very specific, individual, and comprehensive approach that determines the exact cause of the pain and treats it as such.

SYMPTOMS

Neck pain will depend on the area and structures that have been irritated and affected by the brain, resulting in nociception of fire on specific areas of the neck. At Emerson Physical Therapy & Rehab Center, we believe that neck pain is caused by a lack of function. Sore throat pain can be painful, dull, acute in the area and in a wide area. Pain that emits, numbness, or tingling should be a warning sign that requires immediate medical attention.

CAUSES

There are various causes of neck pain. This may be due to a functional or structural disorder; for example, muscle spasms, misalignment of the vertebrae, muscle weakness, core instability, arthritis, disc elevation, disc hernia, and many other problems that Emerson Physical Therapy and Rehab Center doctors will show during the initial examination. TREATMENT

In Emerson Physical Therapy and Rehab Center, we have extensive experience in the diagnosis & treatment of back pain. We use a functional assessment, in order to create an individual treatment plan. Treatment options may vary depending on the age, type, and degree of pain. Treatment will be a combination of manual therapy and physiotherapy. We use our experience in manual and rehabilitation medicine to retrain symmetric weight transfer and compensate for weight shifts that help reduce pressure and reduce back muscle hypertonicity.
